Description

• Attaches to end of axle• Use a 1/2″ wrench after installing the tool over the axle head• Holds axle from spinning while tightening other side• Helps get correct belt tension• Raw finish

Features

When torquing down the axle nut after the proper belt tension has been set (deflection), the welded axle nut will move to the low side of adjuster cam

This movement will allow the belt to lose adjustment

Place this tool over the welded nut on left side with the neck portion of tool resting over the swingarm

Hand screw the adjusting screw to take up any slack in tool

Torque the axle nut from the right side knowing that the welded nut will not turn allowing the belt

Great addition to my tool boxPerfectThis tool is a stamped steel tool. In the photos it looks like a forged tool. (Mine is also plain metal not painted black). This surprised me a bit but for what it does it seems to work fine. One odd thing with my tool was the 37 mm hex was stamped just slightly off center. This required I remove a small amount of metal where the tool meets the rear shock lower bolt.Another thing is the bolt, (My tool has a bolt not a screw), that touches the swing arm is not hardened. The plastic tip also looks a bit frail. Be careful when wrenching on them. The stamping is also not harden. Stripping is possible with just a small amount of torque.i like using it but not sure how much it is really helping. You can't just lock it down and use one wrench, you still have to do a proper offset torque but at that point I think it does it's job without movement, better than without to some extent - but always double check your measurements.A tool so simple to use but helps out soo muchThis is a simple cheap tool but it makes adjusting your drive belt so easy and done the first time. No more tightening and loosening your axle till you get the right tensionGreat tool to help torque the rear axles on Harley touring models. It locks down the left side of the axle which allows you to focus on torquing the axle nut on the right side.. This along with the "George's Garage axle torque adaptor, makes this job a breeze. I have other technicians coming over you use the Jim's 3rd hand. It's a great tool to have...The product I received is not accurately presented in the picture. What I received looks like a cheaper thinner version. Not worth it in my opinion.
