You know what you're getting into when you're buying a hand drill, and this one certainly fits the bill.Pros:Really solid construction: I have drilled plenty of holes and still can't find any degradation in the construction of the drill.Hand Protection: I have found that it is easier to have one person hammer and another hold the drill. Sometimes, a hammer swing doesn't go according to plan, and the rubber that covers your hand does a nice job in softening the blow.Ease of use: It's dead simple to use. Hold, hammer, twist, repeat.Lightweight: Perhaps the biggest advantage is the weight. Even with a hammer in tow, I'm still saving a solid 2-3 pounds as compared to a cordless hammer drill. I use this for alpine drilling mostly, so the weight savings are huge.Cons:Finicky: If you don't hit the drill directly vertically, it doesn't work well, and you can end up with a sloppy hole.Time: It's going to take a good bit longer to drill a hole as compared to using an electric hammer drill.Tiring: Your hand does tend to tire with extended useAll of these cons boil down to the fact that this is a HAND DRILL. You know what you're getting, and if you're ok with that, this is a great option.
