Delta Faucet 51708 7-Spray Slide Bar Handheld Shower with Hose in Chrome - Perfect for Bathroom Renovation & Spa-Like Shower Experience

We purchased two other slide bar hand held shower with hose sets that we immediately disliked (due to not being as described or not being adjustable for a retrofit) before finding this beauty. This one has great adjustability to retrofit to current screw holes so we didn't have holes to fill/hide and didn't have to drill additional holes into tiles. For those retrofitting, the furthest distance between screw holes is 26" and can slide to position along pole to adjust to measurements under 26" - ours was 24 3/4. Straight bar gives you maximum use of the bar length, as opposed to those that are curved or have bulkier ends. We had it up and running in 10 minutes, we had elbow and plumbers tape ready when it arrived. You will need to purchase the wall supply elbow mount separately, it is not included. Shower head fits snugly in position with ease, angle can be slightly adjusted and set. We have weak water pressure in our master bath, but this one definitely gets a good spray compared to our old set - rinses long hair easily. I would have liked to have had a wider spray shower head, for the price the shower head seems a little small. But we like the spray options, to include the pause feature. The stainless steel is very nice looking and all pieces have a solid quality feel w/out being too heavy. The hose has great flexibility (not stiff) to keep it loose and not "catch" or twist up. I am bothered at the difference in price based on finish, but it is still a good value for the money.This shower assembly is beautiful and is mostly sold brass. The piece that holds the nozzle, though, is pretty light duty. If someone tries to force the nozzle position past it’s limit the bracket will break and, as far as I know, replacement parts are not available. Our unit is a retro-fit and I had hoped to use the original holes in the tile to attach the brass bar. Unfortunately the bar was too short so I purchased a 1 inch solid brass bar of appropriate length from a supplier in California. I replaced the original with the new and I works fine. We love it.The Delta hand held shower performs well, is easy to raise or lower and gives you a variety of settings. What I like the most is the flow rate is high, not as restricted as some others. The only negative, and it is minor, is that the shower head should fit more snugly in the holder to avoid having it turn sideways by accident. I still give it 5 stars for its virtues.Good feel and appearance! Hand piece is solid providing good spray patterns I enjoy! Robust parts with solid build. Supply hose is robust and fluid, no rigid plastic feel of less expense fixtures! Delta is good value for dollar imho?Nice quality adjustable shower head. I think the price is okay but not what I would call a great value, but the quality is superior to the other choices without spending $200+.I installed two of these in my children's bathrooms. They work wonderful and look great. The tilt does work but is stiff. There is a set screw that can be loosened or tightened to reduce or increase the force needed to tilt the shower head. I hung this fairly low so it would reach the shower floor. It greatly speeds the rate of rinsing long hair (we have 5 daughters!). We have it coupled with the Victorian delta series and it looks lovely.After about 6 months one of the handles stripped out and would no longer hold the faucet on the rail. It may have been over tightened accidentally by a child or the threads were simply tapped too shallow and wore out. I finally called today. Delta was great in taking care of the problem. They are sending a whole new unit to replace the damaged part. That's the only negative I can find. Delta does not offer individual parts for this product. If it breaks outside of the warranty period you'll need to replace it. Aside from the adjustment handle, it doesn't seem likely that other issues will arise. For the price, function, and style, I think you get your money's worth. It is well worth the effort to install it. If you could get replacement parts, I'd five star this faucet.I received this item good time, BUT after opening the product No1# the slide is like glued on , it is suppose to slide with little effort, No2# the screw that hold hose bracket doesn't hold clip on, this holds the spray handle. I will callWorks splendidly and pairs well with a cross handle: Quality ~ well made ~ not cheap crap.Arrived well protected, I been using it for few months and it works very well
