Would wish for a little adjustmentIt’s a great product also a little bit of a learning curve but fun and easy to use once you get the hang of it.I read all the reviews prior to purchasing this release aid. Many of the reviews lead you to believe that the quality control may be lacking, causing the release aid to misfire.Welp, when I received mine, I read all the instructions - set the tension properly (instructions were included) for a 70-pound draw weight on my compound bow. The release aid functioned perfectly...for the first 20 or 25 arrows. And then I had my first misfire - the release aid let the arrow fly with the bow half-drawn. At first, I thought maybe that I accidentally hit the trigger during the draw. So I tried again, and another misfire. Each successive arrow after that misfired more and more quickly. So I took the release aid apart, to try to diagnose the problem. I didn't find anything, so I reassembled the release aid. It functioned flawlessly again for the first 20 to 25 arrows, and then the same thing started to happen again. For those of you who are experience misfires...here is what is happening. Per the instructions, to set the tension, you pull the trigger to the rear and expose the screw in the back. Then turn clockwise or counter-clockwise until you reach your desired max tension. Tighten the screw back up, and you're in business. What the instructions do NOT tell you is that each time you attach the swivel head to your D-loop, the 360-degree rotating head turns. Each successive time your clip on to your D-loop, the swivel head turns again. Shoot enough times, and the swivel head has turned so many times that the jaws WILL loosen up. And then you'll have a misfire.Once you realize that this is what is happening, it becomes second nature to just check it / turn the head with your fingers after each shot. You really don't need to do it after every shot, but it'll become a force of habit to check. So if you're currently experiencing misfires with this release aid - pick up your release aid, do not depress the trigger or anything else, use your fingers to turn the swivel head clockwise until it stops. No need to loosen any screws or anything else. If you do that before you shoot, it will work flawlessly, reliably, and you'll never have another misfire. If yours seems to be noisy, a little WD-40 will fix that right up. I did not receive anything from the manufacturer for this review. Tru-Fire should really put this in their instructions - it would help out their reviews immeasurably. Hope this helps someone. Be safe out there.Don't give up too quickly. I almost did. It took some adjusting and a little patience but after about 25-30 shots, I got it dialed in. Started shooting tighter groups just about instantly. I had only used a wrist type release since I was a teenager so I was skeptical. It takes the guess work out of a consistent nock point. Glad I gave it a shot.I shoot great with this release, it works fine, as long as you have experience with shooting compound bows. It's sturdy compact works great like it's supposed to but if you have experience with compound bows it's all about your preference. I love using this release, but I have seen others that don't. But all and all it's a nice release.Any wrist release I tried was always too big for my hands and would slip off, so I tried this as an alternative. I was worried at first because it's cheap, but it's actually a great release. Great for women with tiny wrists/hands.I have been shooting archery for 40 years.I use a Carter release with a hair trigger.Bought this release because it is what my son Brandon likes to shoot (less of a hair trigger but crisp and true)It has an adjustable thumb trigger which is important.Calipers make it easy to hook up to the D loop.It is Made in America! And he shoots it well.Let's Go Brandon! It is super smooth, the one I got came in it’s original packaging brand new, it was ready to shoot as soon as I started, I was using it on my 70lbs Vital Impact compound bow, and at 30 yards it was shooting absolutely amazing, I see no problems with this release at all, and I would compare it to any of my Scott archery releases or. My other tru-fire and tru-ball releases, this is way better than the wolf outdoors hand held release that I got when I started shooting as well, it is really worth the money. I’ve had it for only a week but I’ve shot it every day for hours and never had a single issue, I have to say this is one of the best releases I’ve ever used, and it’s the best hand held release I own
