I always get annoyed wasting vegetables with my mandoline safety hat because you can't get the last inch or two of food. This works on a totally different machine than listed here and is universal in my opinion because when used flat, it doesn't require it to fit in the channels of the machine. I can now stick it in the last few inches of a vegetable or fruit and use all of it! The spikes are hard plastic, just short enough to cut down close to the vegetable but just long enough to proved stable contact with it. I love this pusher!Already own a full size mandolin, but store it away due to size. This slicer is perfect for speedy and convenient slicing. Sharp too! I wear a cut resistant glove vs the included guide.How to adjust thickness of slicing and has no instructions. Help.I don't think I really know how to use this. Wish it came with how to sheetWorks great as a shredder, too bad that's not its job. Terrible at making nice Julienne cuts or Noodles. Seemed to dull quickly. Overall product design fail.Beware. The product has no manual or instructions. I almost cut my hand using the hand guard itself. Also, the video shown with product shows slicer while the product does only julienne.Overall great, ONE very important suggestion......Change the guard/grip handle. It doesn't really hold the average potato very well at all. Therefore I have to start cutting by hand. then grip it once it has a flat surface...the downside of that is you can forget the first few times of use & cut yourself pretty badly, which I did. A 1/8" deep 3/4" wide gash out of my finger. I also found it really only holds potatoes well in an oval shape up & down, rather than sideways.It cuts very precise & even slices. Exactly what I was looking for. I made this recipe[...]which would have been MUCH more time consuming.....likely at least 30-45 minutes just in preparation, in about 5 minutes. Saves a ridiculous amount of time in the kitchen. Super easy to clean, super easy to flip the blade (would have been nice for instructions though...took me a bit to figure it out)I love that it is thin enough to store in a drawer rather than taking up valuable cabinet space. It is also useful enough that it is not buried in the back of the shelf that has all the stuff you only use on occasion but still have to have.We love salad so this is really going to be a great item to have. I plan to purchase the julienne slicer as well.This has proved to be quite a useful tool for me & my family.This is one thing I will be purchasing for my daughter so she can have a kitchen stocked when she moves out with USEFUL items.I would pay full price for this, and will be purchasing more. The blade could be a bit sharper, honestly, but for the price, its a good kitchen tool.Makes slicing fruits much less of a hassel.This is the first time I got what I wanted. I love spreading on fine ginger strips over my curries and on the top of my salads. I spent and wasted so much money that now I regret. Finally, I discovered this one which has saved my kitchen space also, in order to get the best results, one should not be very fast with it but reducing the speed does the magic the Julien's come out decent in size what I mean they come much lengthier than if one moves fast. I highly recommend this product.Easy to use, slices everything I throw at it, accept tomatoes, they seem to drag and get stuck.
