Now for me, with arthritic hands, this is really not a good choice for swimming laps as compared to the glove (soft) style. The curved "wings" that you fit around your hand is uncomfortable for me, even as I adjusted the rubber tubing that you slip a finger into so they stay on as you work out.I'm using these rarely, mainly because of that pressure on the spots that are inflamed by my arthritis.They are sturdy though. Much more helpful design than the types of flat hard paddles when I was competing decades ago.good itemI’me very sorry but they didn’t fit my needs ...Fantastic, revolutionary...I've had a lot of experience with other types of hand paddle, the ones offered by Speedo with straps, and have always found them difficult to get on with (straps digging it, aching wrists etc...) and on the first try felt that these had solved all my problems. I was sceptical at first at how they would work but after a couple of laps they were brilliant, felt like I could use them for ages (swam 1200m with them). HIGHLY recommended.Excellent swimming aid from Speedo, if you have never used hand paddles before then these would be great to start with , they are strange when you first swim with them but as you gain confidence they become part of your hand and improve your overal technique , i use these for back stroke and front crawl, has improved my arm strength . plus they fit the hand really well as your hand fits inside completely, theres a rubber ring for the middle finger to locate into , full adjustable . 10/10Great kit. Different to the usual hand paddles as your hands slip into them and are incased in them like wearing tight plastic gloves. Took a bit of time to get the confidence of them but l really enjoy using them and they are helping me with my freestyle. You can also use them for breaststroke training but I haven’t used them for that. Would recommend!!Take some getting used to but I really like them, gets you to focus on good technique.Finger strap could do with being more robust. Made of rubber and are prone to tearing.My son is 13 years old and loves these for his training, fits his hands no problem at all and the quality is exceptional. Speedo products are usually more expensive but I know they will last a long time so its worth it.
