The shaver seems to work well for the first few turns but then the hand crank looses contact with the ice and you get nothing. I have to push down on the center of the crank to get it to work but then the ice shavings were more like thin, long shards of glass. By the time I was able to get the device to shave more ice, the ice previously shaved had already begun to melt. In my humble opinion, this item is useless and was a complete waste of money.
