Iberian Salt is sourced from Salinas that have been producing traditional salt for thousands of years. All salt originates from the sea, either the living sea or one that has dried up; we believe salt harvested from a living sea is more vibrant and mineral rich. Harvesting and drying sea salt naturally using traditional methods is a tedious process and an ancient art. Iberian Salt is harvested following the tradition of producing salt based on lunar phases which minimize impurities. Iberian Salt retains its moisture due to its natural, unrefined state and rich magnesium content. Due to its high moisture content, it cannot be broken down with a mechanical grinder. It can be used in its coarse crystal form or ground with a mortar and pestle. The best way to store Iberian Salt is in a glass, wooden or ceramic container with a loose fitting lid (no metal).The benefits of using unrefined sea salt from a vibrant, living ocean are numerous.
